Philips X7-2t TEE Transducer Repair

The Philips X7-2t TEE Transducer is a powerful imaging device because of its revolutionary 3D imaging capability in a TEE package. It is the first of its kind offering 3 dimensional images of the heart without obstructions such as the ribcage.

Common issues with the transducer revolve around the Failure of Leakage Testing. This failure indicates the probe structure has been compromised and the internal electronics and mechanisms are no longer properly isolated from the external environment. This exposes the probe internals to stomach acid, sterilization fluids, or other fluids that may cause severe electronic shorts resulting in: CW Noise, Color Noise, Lack of Penetration, Errors on the System or No Image at all. Due to its complexity of design, intricacy of electronics and exposure to high acid fluids it is prone to failure.

Summit Imaging recommends a proper Leakage Test and Visual Inspection after every use. If the test fails or there are visual punctures on the probe, the chances of being repairable are significantly increased the sooner this is addressed. Summit Imaging is very successful at repairing this high value equipment, and can do so in a short turnaround time of less than three weeks.
